New Company Web Site Announced

High Desert Distributing joins the 21^st Century

03/24/00 -- High Desert Distributing was founded by an individual who is very familiar with computers and the Internet. Ed Frazier finished his first computer programming course in 1967 and obtained his first job in the computer industry with IBM in 1968. Ed also had access to and used very early versions of the Internet while employed by Control Data Corp. during the mid 80's. It does seem a bit odd then, with that background, that it is the year 2000 before his company finally establishes some sort of presence on the Internet. 

There is a simple reason though. High Desert Distributing is a regional wholesale distributor of frozen fruit bars and ice cream. Ed says that as hard as he tried, he could not figure out an economical way to market these products on the World Wide Web. There are other benefits to having a web presence though, and Ed believes that it is time to take advantage of them.

"Our primary reason for establishing a web site is simply to give the public a way to learn something about our company, and to offer our products and services on a retail level, something we have never really done before. For the past ten years, our direct customers have been the area stores and businesses that carry our products, but now we would like to explore the possibility of limited retail sales to local end users who would like to purchase in larger quantities than generally found in stores."
